Shattuck’s Afternoon Walk

When I came home today, Shattuck was in his crib playing with his rattle.  He was cooing at the toy as he played with it as if he were having a conversation.  Then he noticed me… that is when his eyes lit up and he started smiling.  We took a walk around The Village with Fletcher.

During the walk, Fletcher ran into Duffy… the other male Westie in the neighborhood.  They kept their distance from each other.  Fletcher crouched to his belly, and Duffy started stamping and kicking is back feet… tearing up the ground… and strutting around like a raging bull.  Shattuck’s head went back and forth watching these two posture.  Then he let out a yell as if to say, ‘let’s get this battle started’.  In the end, the matador and the bull just sniffed each other and lost interest.  Our walks are always an adventure.

4th of July Evening

Shattuck started his 4th of July evening at the Hopkins home.  Janie cooked the best meal.

Shattuck and Wendy Buntin.  Someday, he is looking forward to playing with his fourth cousin… boy or girl!

Bruce and Shattuck have a great time together.

Shattuck was asleep before the fireworks started at the Memphis Country Club.

Shattucks good friend Wilson B. Pace was having a good time watching the fireworks.  He said, ‘Uh Oh…  that was loud.’

Cooper is going to have fun visiting Shattuck at Ole Miss someday.

4th of July

TODAY IS SHATTUCK’S FIRST FOURTH OF JULY!!!

The neighborhood had a 4th of July Parade.

Wilson and Wendy walked Shattuck to the parade.

Shattuck ran into his friend Woodson Dunavant who is a few days younger.

Oh Boy!  Wait until Shattuck is old enough to play in the water.

Wilson and Wendy Buntin

My cousin Wilson and his wife Wendy Buntin are in town visiting.  Shattuck loves his Wendy!  We enjoyed the Indian Palace for dinner and tomorrow morning we are going to celebrate the 4th of July with some friends in St. Andrews Fairway and then go to the Memphis Country Club for fireworks tomorrow evening with Bruce and Janie.

Fletcher had to jump in the picture…

Below is a picture taken in 1878 of our Great Great Grandfather John Melchoir Kirk.

Moo Cow

Shattuck and Lale were taking a walk down the street the other evening while I was on my Downtown Memphis to rent our condo.  Finally rented the Condo.

Shattuck was in my lap last night and I was making farm animal noises to his delight.  The I made the Moo Cow noise… and his lip puckered out… I ignored it and went around again with the different noises… and when I came back to the Moo Cow… his lip puckered out again… two tiny droplets formed in both eyes… and he started crying… he was not happy with Moo Cow.

Shattuck has been having fun in his walker.  Andre Anderson gave it to him when he was born.  Shattuck knows that if he walks across the room… he gets a hug.  He jumps across the room.
