High Point Pizza

After going to Hutchison’s fall party for pre-k (see earlier blog post)…. we decided to go to High Point Pizza for the best pizza in town.  The Margarita pizza is the best you’ve ever had.  And they have a Mrs. PAC MAN game on the premises for $0.50… not much more than it cost in the 1980s… however the best part is that Anne Hartmann and West enjoy it just as much whether you put money in or not…

Question: Guess what you’re not supposed to do before the pizza comes out?

Answer:  Let the kids have gum.

Shattuck was along for the ride.

Hutchison School Fall Party

16 Wednesday Sep 2009

International soccer star Anne Hartmann took some time off of her busy sports schedule to take us to her school for a fall party.

Shattuck didn’t really know what to expect at the invitation to go to an all girls school party.

A.H. performed with her cotton candy….

Then took some time to join the others for a little adventure slide (just to let the other know she’s just like them… and not a famed super soccer star)…

The men… realizing they were deep DEEP behind enemy lines… remained very still in the hopes that the hundreds of pre-K girls wouldn’t notice them and force them to play the ‘girl’ games… for if they were ever spotted… not man in their right mind would risk capture coming onto this campus for a rescue.  Good luck men.

A.H. stopped for a brief moment to sign autographs.

Shattuck has no idea how many time’s he going to try to sneek back on this campus later in life…

We went to A-Tan’s Restaraunt Monday night.  Shattuck is fascinated with the hibaci style grill and the performance of the cooks.

Shattuck watched every second of the Chef’s performance.

After dinner… Shattuck played with Grandfather Adams.

The Giant Jam Sandwich

Grandfather Adams came up to stay with Shattuck.  He started the evening reading Shattuck his favorite book… The Giant Jam Sandwich.  It’s a wonderful book about a town called Itching Down infested with wasps.  The towns people banded together and with the help of the local farmer and the baker to bake a 3 story loaf of bread… which they in turn used to create a giant jam sandwich.  The wasps get caught in the jam… and the birds fly away with the sandwich thereby relieving the townsfolk of Itching Down of their infestation and the modern utopia went back to normal.

Obviously this book is a metaphor for a communist regime.  The towns folk represent the Labor Unions riding themselves of the WASPs by rising the federal deficit (the bread) until the economy bursts and the Chinese fly off with our National Trust.

Shattuck enjoyed it… I don’t think he picked up on the sub plot.

Shattuck visited his Great Grandmother Marthe Ma this Sunday afternoon.  She is coming up on her 88th birthday next weekend.  She pulled out all of our old toys.

Shattuck liked playing with Marthe Ma’s Life Alert transponder she wears around her neck.

Sunday Morning Visit

Sunday morning Shattuck is playing in his Jumper.  Anne Hartmann and West stopped by because their kitchen floors are being redone by Jim Bob (who also worked on our Condo downtown).  The majority of the time Jim Bob works on their kitchen, he’s has a barrage of questions from A.H. and West Jr… so they felt it was better to get them out of the house so he could finish up.

Anne Hartmann Lewis played her first soccer game this Friday and was the only one on her team to score a goal… she scored two…. even though the team lost… she told her mother ‘I won the soccer game.’  There is no ‘i’ in team A.H.

Linda Orton gave Shattuck a ‘Bug Hat’ this week.  He is going to enjoy going across the street to the Botanic Gardens to look for bugs someday in his Bug Hat.

Time to give the Bug Hat back… and do some jumping.

Shattuck loves his jumper…

And then the wild dogs come to play… Fletcher and Mintie.

I missed Shattuck all weekend while he was away visiting cousins.  He was tired when I arrived home from work, so I walked him around until he fell asleep.  When he awoke… we played.
